I wanted to thank each and every one of you for your support for the First Annual End of Road Rally. Although the crowd was smaller than what was anticipated, the support and gatherings were well received. Thomas has indicated that he would like to extend the rally next year to include the 2 weekends. The 2009 HOG Rally will be in Fairbanks for the weekend of the 21st and we are hoping to get people coming or going to that. As my father-in-law once said,"I'll take a sandwich off that meal anytime." The longest day of the year is really the "sell" for this event. I believe we will only grow with each year. I read one rally had only 400 participants in 2003 and in 2007, they had 10,000. We could only hope....more staff needs:)

Good contacts were made. Rae Ann from Sweet Occasions, SCL, Lambert's Carriage Rides and myself are working on "wedding/event destination" ideas for our area.

We are slowly getting photos onto the website.
I'm sorry I didn't attend the entire weekend as I heard Saturday was a wonderful party.

TREASURE HUNT RIDE TO FAIRBANKS WAS AMAZING..THANKS TO WONDERFUL PARTICIPANTS AND BUSINESSES AND THE SUNDAY SERVICE AND DEDICATION TO OUR FALLEN AMERICAN SOLDIERS MADE IT ALL RIGHT. Guardian Flight Makes Itself Available at Rally

Guardian Flight will have an ambulance at the Rally.

They will also be taking membership for those who'd like it.

A Big THANK YOU goes out to the Healy Lake Work Crew, Friends & Family.

Cory, Tommy, Jerry, Brian, Melissa's daughter, the Pyatt family, Boots n Dug, John, Sandy, Danielle, Ron & whomever else I might have missed has really come through. The SCL has been cut, raked, trimmed, mowed, planted and literally tons of debris from previous past endeavors have been removed from the back of the lodge to make way for the beer garden. The lawn has been fertilized & so have the trees. The flowers have been planted and the new sign is up.

New vendors are still coming on. CMA, Shelly from Forget-Me-Knot RV & Camping along with Bruce from Marden's General Store were at our meeting last night. Shelly has an RV & Campsite at mile 1399 so first come first serve there. Their number is (907) 895-1871. Bruce brought out road orange cones, trash barrels and more. Alaska Interior Game Ranch donated fertilizer, flowers from Circle S Greenhouse next to Acacia Floral in town, topsoil, fencing and a tent for the beer garden. Boots n Dug brought out 3 large spools for the beer garden area.

Comic to Perform on Saturday 8 PM

Comic Ryan Wingfield will be performing on Saturday at 8 PM . Ryan grew up in Delta Junction, playing hockey, along with his 2 brothers, Nick and Cale. His parents, Hugh and Claire Wingfield, operate Alaska 7 Motel. Wingfield is a 1999 Delta High School graduate and has been following his dream as a stand-up comic.
“After spending three years writing news for a television station in Boise Idaho”, Ryan says, “I quit my job to follow a childhood dream of performing stand up comedy. So far my career as a comic has taken me from the lights of Reno and Las Vegas to the rolling cornfields of Kansas. At least it's nice to know the two college degrees I got are being put to good use. I have no idea what the future holds for me, but I'm looking forward to it.”

Toy Run to Benefit Project Christmas

Toy Run, bring your unwrapped new toy to the Sawmill Creek Lodge Saturday, June 21st at noon for line up. We depart at 1 PM to travel to Delta as a group and do a drop off at the Delta Volunteer Fire Department Station to benefit Delta's Project Christmas.
